The dilemma of outdated vanity plates

Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Mike Sullivan was a few weeks into his new job when his Honda, parked in the basement of the county administration building, stopped listing his political history. Sullivan said he stood in line at the tax office to get his SUV its new, generic plate, which replaces “CMMS,” for “Council Member Mike Sullivan.” The new tax man was on Houston City Council from January 2008 until the end of last month, leaving with a year left in his last term to lead the tax office. “When I was on the (Humble ISD) school board, I had “HISD4″ because I was Position 4,” said the Kingwood native.  Read More
