Easy Things To Do To Make Your House Elegant Posted By: Jason Johnson
If you're thinking about putting down carpeting for your home, make sure to choose carpeting in dark colors only. Light colors such as beige, white, or light brown tend to pick up dirt and stains, making your carpeting appear cheap and used. Opt for colors like dark green or dark brown to hide what shouldn't be seen and prolong the life of your carpet.
If someone in your household has long hair or you bathe shedding pets often, use a hair trap in the shower to prevent annoying clogs in the drain. There are a variety of models to fit different drain styles, but they all work by preventing hair from entering the drain and getting stuck in the trap.

Bristol Rovers snap up defender Mark McChrystal on short-term deal
BRISTOL Rovers boss John Ward yesterday completed his fourth signing of the January transfer window after offering former Tranmere defender Mark McChrystal a deal until the end of the season.
Ward moved quickly to draft in another central defender after Rovers had an offer to sign Cian Bolger on a permanent deal turned down by Leicester City and were told it was "unlikely" they would get the youngster back on loan.
The manager is also weighing up the possibility of signing striker Guy Madjo, pictured, after inviting the recently-released Aldershot forward to train at Cribbs Causeway until the end of this week.
The well-travelled striker, who has played for a host of Football League clubs – including cross-town rivals Bristol City – since starting out at Wessex League side Petersfield Town eight years ago, could offer Ward the physical presence that has been lacking since the return of Tom Eaves to parent club Bolton last week.
Madjo, who was drafted into the Cameroon national team as a replacement for the injured Samuel Eto'o in 2007, scored eight times for Aldershot in 23 appearances over a two-year period and also claimed three goals in a loan spell at Plymouth Argyle earlier this season.
McChrystal, 28, is a former Northern Ireland Under-21 captain, who began his career at Wolverhampton Wanderers, but returned to play in his homeland after being released.
He returned to England when offered a deal to join Tranmere in January 2011, but has been out out-of-favour at Prenton Park this season and played three times during a short loan spell at Scunthorpe.
"I worked with Mark when he was a young player at Wolverhampton Wanderers, so I know a bit about his character, and I have followed his career from afar," said Ward.
"The timing was great because Mark became available as Cian Bolger had to return to his parent club. He is an experienced player now and he will add strength, power and knowledge to our backline.
"Mark is a typical centre-half who will defend and head the ball, and wears his heart on his sleeve. He is ready to play for the cause, and even though he is only here for the short-term, he knows if everything goes well, it could turn into something longer."
Ward, who is still hoping to bring Stoke midfielder Matthew Lund back to the Memorial Stadium until the end of the season, is now unlikely to get Bolger back and he confirmed: "I've made a bid to buy Cian and that has been turned down. Whether we can improve on the initial offer is questionable at the moment. We'd like to have Matt back here, but that is a decision for Stoke to make."
Ward will be hoping Rovers' can extend their unbeaten run to three games when they face leaders Gillingham at home tomorrow.
"A win at home and a point at Aldershot has served to inject a bit of confidence into the boys," said Ward. "What people have seen over the last couple of games is that the attitude and approach from everybody involved has been good.
"That attitude, however, will be tested to the full in the next couple of games because we have tough opponents in the shape of Gillingham and Fleetwood, so now we have to maintain that sort of spirit if we are to get anything out of those games."
He added: "Gillingham are top of the division, so they are the best team in this league at the moment. On any given day, however, things can happen in our favour."
Striker David Clarkson (ankle) is still rated doubtful, while defender Jim Paterson (hamstring) is definitely out. Defender Danny Woodards (ankle) could make a return and skipper Garry Kenneth is back after suspension.

Bristol Rugby: Eves ready for the big challenge that lies ahead down in Cornwall
LUKE Eves is relishing the prospect of facing Cornish Pirates in Penzance this afternoon – and believes a victory at Mennaye Field would send Bristol's confidence rocketing.
Resurgent Bristol have won their last six matches in all competitions, including four in the Championship, but are without an away win against Pirates since May 2010.
But, after clawing their way back into the play-off positions, centre Eves sees a genuine opportunity for Bristol to gather more confidence from today's game.
"We're under no illusions about how tough it is down there – we haven't got a great record down at Mennaye Field," said the 23-year-old.
"But we have been on a good run of form, albeit in the British & Irish Cup as well, and that all adds to the confidence. So we are confident and now we are just looking forward to getting down there. It's another big challenge for us, of course it is, but one we have got to face.
"We are not going to over-hype the fact it's the Pirates, but we're also not going to underestimate it. We're going into this game in good shape and if we can win, it will give us plenty of confidence at the start of a new year."
Bristol were crushed 45-24 on their last visit to Penzance in the Championship semi-final in May, with a ten-minute collapse allowing the Pirates to take charge of the tie.
Bristol rallied well back at the Memorial Stadium in the second leg, but still missed out on a place in the final on aggregate.
But if you thought that might have been a major talking-point for Bristol's players this week, you would be wrong. The subject has not even cropped up.
"It's funny, because it certainly hasn't been mentioned at all this week," said Eves.
"That said, it's only human nature that the players who played down there in that game will have it in the back of their mind.
"It still bites in the back of my mind, but that only adds to the fire when we go down there."
Pirates' sole home defeat so far this season came against Newcastle – and, as Bristol know all too well, there is little shame in losing to the runaway league leaders.
And Eves is anticipating meeting a Pirates team who will be full of belief and backed by a vociferous home support.
"What with it being New Year's Day, there will be a huge crowd there, and that is all part of the challenge for us," he said.
"Throw in the fact we are fourth in the table and they are sixth, and the history between the sides, and it's pretty obvious it's going to be a huge game for both teams.
"They are three points behind us, so it's a big opportunity for one of us to start 2013 in the play-off places.
"Pirates are always a tough side down there and they have the second best defensive record in the league, behind Newcastle, plus they beat Nottingham down there. We are going to have to be right on our game."
Bristol's players enjoyed a three-day Christmas break after beating Doncaster 26-18 in their last game nine days ago – but have been working hard ahead of their trip to Cornwall. "It was nice to have some time off with the family, which you always need, but we came back in and reviewed the Doncaster game and we were a little disappointed with our performance," said Eves.
"But we have cracked on, had a good week's training in difficult conditions, and I think all the preparation has been done for Pirates. We are ready to go now."
