Overtime boosts audience for Texans? win over Jaguars
The Texans? melodramatic meltdown against the Jaguars, followed by their dramatic win in overtime, produced a drawn-out, highly-rated game Sunday for CBS and KHOU (Channel 11). The game had a 26.5 Nielsen rating and 53 share on Channel 11, averaging about 587,147 of Houston?s 2.2 million TV households. It averaged 24.7 in regulation and zoomed into the 30s during overtime. The Cowboys also went into overtime against the Browns, so CBS also benefited from good numbers for that game in Dallas-Fort Worth (26.3/52), San Antonio (19.2/39) and Austin (15,5.32).
